October news – Black History Month Celebrations

Sunday is the start of Black History Month.  Over the month of October we will be having some presentations during some of the services and we will also be having a Soul Music night on the 21st October, 7pm. Refreshments are provided.  Please, bring your friends.  Sign up to sing by emailing ben@stpaulsbrixton.org – visit https://www.timeout.com/london/music/the-best-soul-songs#tab_panel_5 for inspiration
There is also an event celebrating art, culture and representation at Southwark Cathedral on the 7th October, 10.30-3pm. It includes a service of thanksgiving, an art exhibition and workshops led by renowned artists, curators and art historians. This event will offer an historical engagement and contemporary contextualisation of the way in which ‘Art, Culture and Representation’ is important in the lives of BAME people and contributes to spiritual wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
Black History is an important part of our history.  I hope you will join us in celebrating it this October.
